Hear the Glow of Electric Lights
Sarah Beth Woods Directed and Produced Hear the Glow of Electric Lights, a 16mm reversal film that investigates the choreographed performances and culture of 1960s American pop music groups featuring girls and young women.
During the summer of 2017 Woods formed and filmed a fictional girl group based out of Prosser High School on the West Side of Chicago. Woods’ work conceals and reveals both the surface of bodies and the materiality of film as a way to conjure absence and the lost archive.
